Drive-In Racking provides effective space utilization with significant reduction in pick slots, since each tunnel can store only a single product and together with fewer aisles, storage densities can be doubled. Each rack bay is designed to hold a single product, usually reserved for larger products or large lots of single products stored on pallets.
Pallet loading and retrieval is from the same aisle and is used when last-in and first-out (LIFO principle) is acceptable. The forklifts drive into the lanes to load or retrieve pallets which are stored on full length load rails.
Best used to maximize storage space against walls or building columns.
